Apple revealed to be working to prevent repair

An article on Motherboard discusses how lobbying records in New York have revealed how Apple is actively working to kill legislation that allows users and repair shops to repair its products, in this case iPhones.

This sort of action works directly against the sort of work that my clients come to me and depend on me to do for them. I encourage everyone to send messages to Apple publicly and privately to let them know what you think of this, especially if you are an Apple customer. In the meantime, it is always important to choose carefully when deciding what companies to support with your money when you purchase their products. Sometimes the only power you have is "voting with your wallet", and it's necessary for companies' anti-consumer actions to have a direct result in sales in order to get the message across and see change.
