In a recent Wired article titled "If You Still Use Windows XP, Prepare For the Worst", the new and growing dangers of continuing with this abandoned and insecure operating system are laid out in stark detail. Windows XP reached "end of life" three years ago and is no longer being supported by Microsoft nor is it receiving automatic security updates anymore. As a result, known and new vulnerabilities are being exploited with brash vigor by malicious hackers and malware without any fear of revealing their tricks and then having them fixed by Microsoft. It is increasingly imparative that any users still unfortunate enough to still be using Windows XP to stop immediately and make arrangements to upgrade their computer.
